Helpful Tips

Educate yourself (and where possible, those close to you) about the challenges you are facing.

Incorporate exercise, and/or yoga into your life, and be consistent with these practices.

Avoid excessive use of caffeine.

Avoid self-medicating with alcohol or drugs.

Consult your family physician, and get a medical exam to rule out underlying physical causes.

Talk to supportive friends and family about how you are feeling.

Get a journal and write down your feelings as they come up.

Be gentle and patient with yourself.

Get a meditation CD or attend meditation classes regularly – this will go a long way in helping to regulate your emotions.

Learn about and practice mindfulness.
